Happy 1 Year Anniversary Nikki and Thien!
When Tamara and Idris contacted me last year regarding their wedding, I was quite ecstatic. Tamara is 1/2 Vietnamese, 1/2 Chinese and Idris is 1/2 Indian, 1/2 English. I’ve always wanted to experience an Indian wedding and even though Tamara told me it won’t be a full blown Indian wedding, I was still excited to see all the Sari and Indian heritage being part of the wedding. Our first meeting went extremely well, Tamara and Idris, who are both attorneys, wanted to see if there would be a connection before they make a decision on hiring anyone. I gave them a couple of options on the packages I offer, one of them is hiring a lead assistant if they were worried about budget. At the end of the meeting, Tamara said “I don’t know how anyone would hire a lead assistant or anyone else after meeting you”. This humbled me so much although I did assure them that our KDWP lead assistant is very capable of coordinating a wedding. With those kind parting words from Tamara and Idris, we locked down the contract within the week. We’ve met several times during the planning process and each time, I could sense that I was taking a load off their shoulders. After each meeting, they came out much more relaxed than when they came in. This validates the reason why I am still planning/coordinating weddings even though this is a stressful job.
My team and I (well mostly my team) tied all of sashes on the chairs.
Idris and Tamara opted to do an Indian style ceremony and a tea ceremony during the ceremony. It was a great blend of 2 cultures.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds took pictures around the hotel.
Reception setup on the rooftop of the London Hotel.
Tamara and Idris’ wedding had a steam punk flair to it and I absolutely love it!
One of the BEST wedding cake I’ve seen! Look at the detail.
Idris’ father’s speech was just awesome, funny and embarrassing to Idris….
…You can tell by Idris’ reaction.
We cater to the bride and groom.
The guests definitely know how to party.
Idris and Tamara….thank you, thank you, thank you for having KDWP be part of your wedding. You have made one of my dream come true by being able to coordinate an Indian wedding (even if it wasn’t a full on Indian wedding). It was a pleasure getting to know the 2 of you and we wish you a lifetime of happiness! PS: I can babysit Jinks & Claudia anytime!

To wrap up the end of 2014, I couldn’t have asked for a more adorable, loving, friendly, thoughtful and caring couple than Yolanda and Calay. When I first met with them, I thought they were the sweetest. We instantly connected over our children which led me to become their wedding planner/coordinator. :)
All photos are courtesy of the talented husband and wife from Cameron Leung Photography.
I love Chinese tea ceremony! To me, they are way more fun than Vietnamese tea ceremony since it involves games prior to the groom entering the house.
Groomsmen had to pop the balloons around Calay. It was hilarious!
Besides testing the groom and groomsmen taste buds (they had to endure the taste of sour, sweet and spicy), the bridesmaids had all of them sing Backstreet Boys “As long as you love me”. They definitely needed more practice on the song. :)
Calay pulled the BIG Red Envelope in order to be allowed in the house and see his bride.
The Bride, Groom and their precious baby girl.
Lighting fireworks for the bride and groom departure to the groom’s side for the tea ceremony.
Here I am, helping everyone line up to enter the 2nd tea ceremony.
After the Tea Ceremonies, the bridal party headed over to the hotel to get ready. We were so ahead of schedule that I was actually able to sit down and rest for a good hour.
Love mother and daughter dresses!
I mainly deal with brides so I get to know them on a more personal level than the grooms. I don’t often talk about the grooms but I have to say Calay is one of my favorite groom that I’ve worked with. He was always asking me if I was OK, if I needed anything or if he could help me. He was always soft spoken. It warms my heart when I see Calay’s look when he sees Yolanda and their daughter. It is the look of love and adoration from a happy man.
These bonding moments between a mother and her child always gets to me. I guess it pulls at my heart string because I am a mother too.
While Yolanda was getting dressed, I was babysitting their sweet little girl and trying to get her dressed.
Only a mother’s love can soothe a fussy baby. <3
One of my favorite photo of the day.
I’m amazed at how all the vendors came together to turn a typical Chinese restaurant into a fancy dream wedding. We completely changed the look of the whole venue.
Yolanda and Calay had 40+ tables and they flew with table greetings. I think they were done in 30 minutes. Loved it! We were so ahead of schedule that I wasn’t sure what to do with myself.
Their Same Day Edit was awesome!
You check out their SDE below.

Happy 1 year Anniversary Cindy and Huy!
Thy is one of the easiest, carefree bride I’ve ever worked with. She was so easy going, it made my job way too easy. :) Eddie is the well known tattoo artist from OC Tattoo, Inc. You definitely cannot find a funnier person than him. Together, they make the perfect fun, loving couple and I couldn’t be luckier being their wedding day coordinator.
The beautiful flower girl, Thy and Eddie’s daughter.
This cutie pie ring bearer is Thy and Eddie’s son. He was well behaved during the wedding.
Big props to Dzien from DJZ Productions for helping the Bride & Groom’s friend who officiated their wedding and dealing with the dance floor vendor while I was busy running around doing things for the bride. I’m blessed to be working with awesome team of vendors who look out for each other.
The ceremony was so much fun! I heard laughter all around.
Look at these little cuties on the dance floor! So happy to see my past clients and their children. It’s like a big reunion!
My 1st wedding with a celebrity! I was quite oblivious at first since I didn’t know who “Rampage” is.
Ally and friends surprised her parents by singing a “Frozen” song. It was adorable!
Picture perfect happy family!
Thy and Eddie, thank you very much for having KDWP be part of such a festive day. It was such a fun wedding that we had the honor of being part of. We wish you nothing but the best and happiness for the rest of your lives.

Whitney and Kyle are the sweetest, nicest , most caring, and thoughtful people ever. I know I say this about all of my couples but it’s the truth! I have the best clients! I am truly blessed and thankful to work with all of the amazing couples. When Whitney approached me about 10 months prior to the wedding inquiring about my services, my first thought was “Wow! She is tall!” I dwarfed next to her with my 5’2 itty bitty height. Our initial meeting was very productive but I wanted to give Whitney and Kyle some time to think about my services before they decided to hire me. They were still living in Boston at the time and in the process of moving back to Orange County so I didn’t want them to feel pressured about booking me right away. When Whitney and Kyle were ready to book my services for day of coordination, I was elated! The Nixon Library is one of the venue I’ve been dreaming of working at for a while and to have the opportunity to do so for Whitney and Kyle’s wedding made it much more special.
We started the day with a traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony.
Whitney has a very talented mom, she made all of the bridesmaids dresses and all of the Ao Dais.
The details on these ao dai are mesmerizing!
Precious moment between mother and daughter.
I love love love Whitney’s ao dai.
Married!!! Congratulations Whitney and Kyle!
With a venue as beautiful as the Nixon Library, the wedding party took advantage of the grounds as backdrop for portraits.
I can’t get enough of how regal and gorgeous this venue is.
Kyle’s mom passed the family secret tomato sauce to Whitney.
Another beautiful ao dai creation from Whitney’s mom! I’m obsessed!
Whitney’s mother also made her 3rd gown! So talented!
Here is Whitney and Kyle’s wedding highlights.
Whitney + Kyle, Thank you so much for booking my services and allowing me to fulfill my dreams of working at this gorgeous venue.
You both are the greatest sweetest couple I’ve met. We wish you a lifetime of happiness, laughter and love!
