Happy 1 year Anniversary to my one and only!!!

September 10, 2012

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to my husband Renrick!!! I can’t believe it’s been a year since our amazing wedding. And now, we have our sweet little boy Riley as a product of our love.

When we first started dating, we poured our feelings and love through letters which we haven’t done anymore as we’ve gotten so used to each others presence.  I miss the little love notes we left one another. I thought I would write you a love letter on our 1 year Anniversary.  I haven’t said it often and enough the past few months, but I want you to know that I Love you Dearly. I’m not so sure where to start so I decided to make a list of all the things to thank you for.

Thank you for…

  • Kissing me and wishing me to have a good day every morning
  • Putting up with my OCD
  • Supporting me with KDWP (Kelly Duprat Wedding Planner)
  • Always saying I am beautiful even though I feel like I am extremely fat after baby
  • Cracking jokes and trying to make me smile even though I don’t think they are funny
  • Letting me be mean to you when I am mad at you
  • Standing by my side even when I was acting like an irrational child
  • Not holding grudges and forgive me when I drown in my own pool of rage
  • Loving me no matter who I am that day
  • Always smiling and kissing me when I come home from work
  • Cooking for me
  • Trying to fix your mistakes to make me happy
  • Cleaning up when I complain that our place is a mess
  • Sometimes I feel as if you are not listening to a word I say, but then you surprise me and bring it up another time
  • Only seeing me
  • Your trust in me
  • Being by my side through an intense 24 hour labor
  • Not walking away when times have been rough
  • Not taking it personally when I am mean to you
  • Never ever looking down at me
  • Being everything I never even knew that I needed in a man
  • Sleeping next to me every night
  • Going along with my crazyness
  • Offering to buy me clothes because I keep complaining that I am fat and nothing fits me
  • Taking me to Sushi Wazen almost every weekend because you know that I love that place
  • Texting me randomly asking how my day is going and always ending the text with “I love you babe”
  • Letting me make fun of you
  • Laughing with me when an uncontrollable laugh comes out in the middle of church :)
  • Always holding my hand when we are out
  • Loving me unconditionally
  • Wanting to spend the rest of your life with me
  • Keeping me on my toes when I start having crazy ideas for parties
  • Letting me nag at you
  • Picking things up when I ask you to
  • Always letting me win a fight even though you know you are right
  • Giving me money to eat lunch when I am broke (which is at every paycheck)
  • Making me the happiest person when you gave me the most beautiful baby boy
  • Always apologizing first when we fight even though you haven’t done anything wrong
  • ….and many more things you do that I am thankful for.

I know I haven’t been the greatest wife and person to live with,  but I can honestly say that I am the luckiest woman because you chose and love me unconditionally as your wife. Renrick, you are the best husband and father anybody could ask for. I love you with all my heart, I look forward to the next 100 years celebrating our love together!!!

Our Wedding 9.10.11 – Part 4

July 27, 2012

Finally, the last blog about our wedding! It only took me 4 months but at least it is here! I tried to incorporate a little bit of all my previous clients wedding into the reception since I pulled my inspirations from all them.

Here are the details of the Reception.

The Place Cards table.

The Sweetheart table.

Our silhouette! I had to incorporate a little bit of french in there :)

The sign-in table and money box.

The Cake.

With the talented Jenny Vu of Intricakes who made our cake!

I wanted the cream puffs in the shape of the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. Isabel from Sweet Nothings did amazing!

The reception overall look.

Our party favors were actually cake towel. Cute!

When guests arrived, they first took a picture with us then look for their place cards and sign-in.

Hors D’oeuvres and a hit at the open bar!

Bottoms up with some happy “courage” juice before the Grand Entrance.

The awesome DJZ pumping up the crowd before our Grand Entrance.

After looking at all the photos, I realize that I make the weirdest faces during our Grand Entrance. lol…

A high energy bridal party makes a great Grand Entrance!

Our First Dance.

We decided to dance to “This I promise you” by N’Sync :) I was singing along the whole time so on a lot of the photos I made weird faces again.

We practiced the dip but when it was time to actually do it, we completely failed.

Our good friend Annh said a prayer to bless the food.

The open bar was a definite hit! I don’t think anybody went home sobber :)

Instant Party Pix Photobooth provided such fun entertainment to all of our guests. We had to get in and enjoy it too :)

The Best man speech from Renrick’s brother was so thoughtful.

Mmmmmhhh…I was wondering why all the bridesmaids were gathered on this side…

…well, that’s because they had a surprise dance up their sleeves!

They definitely surprised us with a dance routine to “Baby” by Justin Bieber!

Cheering for our bridal party!

I was so ecstatic!!!

The Maid of Honor speech.

I have no idea how my brother and sister pulled this off but they surprised us with some hilarious entertainment.

After their dance routine, my brother and sister lip-sync to Boyzone “Love me for a reason” because it was my favorite song!

I laughed so hard, I ended up crying at the same time!

All the years growing up fighting, bickering, yelling…in the end, we love each other.

And then, my sister made her speech and we lost it…

While I went in to change into my Vietnamese Ao Dai, guests were entertained with a Scavenger Hunt game.

The winner!!!

We are back!!! Husband in his barong and me in my ao dai.

Since we didn’t have a tea ceremony in the morning, I decided to keep the tradition and have a quick small one at the reception.

We continued the celebration with table greetings.

Yeah…I went a bit overboard and we had a chocolate fountain.

By the looks of it, it was a success!

With my sweet friend Natasha of Bride Culture, who custom-made my 3rd dress!

Alumiq amazed us with the Same Day Edit (<– Click here to see it)

After the Same Day Edit, I serenaded Renrick with a song called “For All Time” By Soluna to show how much he means to me.

I had groupies in the audience! :)

I think he liked the song? ;)

In keeping with the Filipino tradition, we had a money dance.

Cake cutting and champagne toast.

He is so goofy!

Renrick made a speech…which I think was too long lol….

The bouquet toss got a little wild :)

Garter toss!

Look at me in the background still fixing my brother’s boutonniere!

We wanted to have a group picture with everyone at the wedding. It was a little bit of a challenge but we made it work!

Since everyone was already on the dance floor, DJZ pumped up the music for dancing and party! Best way to get the crowd on the dance floor!

Hogging the photobooth!

I can’t pick 1 ring shot because they are all great!

And the night ended with….

…which brings to 9 months later adding to our little family…

Meet Riley Reno Vinh Hidalgo!

Our Wedding 9.10.11 – Part 3

June 15, 2012

This is the moment Renrick and I have been waiting for a long long time. After all the things we have gone through, we were finally going to be united as husband and wife.

St. Callistus Catholic Church was the perfect church for us to get married at.

Our ceremony was scheduled for 2:30PM. While our guests were entering the church, I hid in a little room, which really didn’t hide me since people could still see me through the glass :)

I wanted to spend a little bit of time with my parents and finishing pinning the flowers on family members. Here is my mom putting some jewelry on me.

Pinning boutonniere on my sister in law.

My parents and I…

Putting the finishing touches on my dad…

The program…

The back of the flower girl dresses. I wanted to keep their dresses appropriate for their age :) I think some of them still wear their dress once in a while when they go out.

The church floral decorations…

Start of the Procession with the Priest walking in first.

Line up of the bridal party…

Renrick is being walked down the aisle by his parents.

The children did great walking down the aisle :)

My poor nephews were jet lagged and they probably didn’t understand why they had to walk holding Hello Kitty!

Here we go!!! Getting ready to walk down the aisle!

I wanted to include both my parents walking me down the aisle because they both had a hand in raising me and it’s NOT just my dad giving me away but my mom as well.

I was feeling very nervous, anxious and elated at the same time…

For the bridal entrance, I walked down to “Just the way you are” by Bruno Mars

I knew Renrick was going to be emotional…got me all choked up when I saw him but I held it in…I wanted to take everything in.

Breathe in…Breathe out…This is what I kept telling myself or I would’ve broken down in tears.

Our mothers lighting our candles.

We forgot our readings in the limo so I told the church coordinator to just pick any readings for us….I really don’t remember what we ended up reading

Tweena, Vivian and the girls did sooo good at all the singing!

We love Fr. Tuyen’s homily. It was so full of joy, humor and very inspiring for newlywed couples.

Nephew, Ludo, is hungry :(

Time to take our vows

Uniting our lives by lighting our Unity Candle

Our first kiss as husband and wife!

Our good friend Annh read the Prayer of the Faithful

For the Presentation of the Gifts, Tweena and the girls sang “Little Wonders” by Rob Thomas.

Renrick’s sister and niece were assigned to this task.

This is why you have bridesmaids :)

Always holding my dress because I felt it was slipping…

“Bless the broken road” by Rascal Flatts was sung during Communion

We DID it!! Woohoo!!

For the Recession, we all walked out to “Marry Me” by Bruno Mars/Glee

Our ride for the whole day…

And we are done with the ceremony! Next stop, reception to finish setting up and party!

TO BE CONTINUED….

The wedding wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing team of vendors. This is probably the longest list of vendors ever! I just want to make sure everyone gets the credit that they deserve :)
