Wendy and Brandon’s Wedding 4.29.11

Sorry I have been M.I.A from blogging but I’m making it up now with beautiful photos from Wendy and Brandon’s wedding.

When I first met B+W, I was blown away by their beauty as a couple. They are by far the hottest bride and groom I’ve ever worked with. I was a bit intimidated by them at first but the feeling didn’t last long for they are the friendliest, nicest and sweetest couple I could’ve met.

True to their initial, B+W had a very elegant white theme wedding. Wendy did an amazing job with all of the florals! I am still amazed by how much work and time it took her to make them and she still looked flawless on the wedding day. Their wedding was very tight on set-up time and I was quite worried, to be truthful, trying to set up a big wedding in such a tight schedule. I wasn’t one to refuse a challenge though :) Because of the time restraint, I had to pull a lot of helping hands on my team in order to make it happen within 2 hours, which, in the end, turned out amazing with just slight glitches here and there. Working with professional vendors makes a whole lot of difference…especially when there were so many details with very little time to accomplish them.

Thank you to Apertura Photo for all the beautiful photos and capturing everything so splendidly!!!!

The day started with the bride and groom getting ready….I am absolutely in love with Wendy’s Lazaro gown!!!!

The big trees next to the cake and sweetheart table were brought from the outside ceremony onto the reception ballroom. They were really really heavy and we had to maneuver them as quickly as possible since there was quite a walk from both ceremony to reception ballroom.

Gemma and Jeff’s Wedding 6.26.10

This  post is wayyyyy overdue! Sorry everyone but I just receive the photos.

This wedding definitely hit close to home since it was RR’s aunt. I fell into coordinating the wedding about 1 week into the wedding. I felt bad because Gemma was so overwhelmed and still had a lot to do so I offered my services. Also, RR’s family has always been so nice and welcomed me with open arms. How can I not? Besides it’s always fun to play double duty as a guest and coordinator. The wedding was very simple but it fitted Gemma and Jeff perfectly.

Gemma glowed on her special day.

Her shoes and bling ;)

Jeff and his groomsmen being serious…

then letting loose :)

The bridesmaids sparkled in royal blue.

Gemma, Jeff and the bridal party in their best behavior…

…then fun moment. Look how happy Gemma and Jeff are!

Arch and aisle decoration.

Gemma was escorted down the aisle by her sweet and adorable parents.

It was such an emotional ceremony. Almost everyone had tears in their eyes.

For the sand ceremony, Gemma’s daughter, Melanie, joined in to celebrate the blending of the family.

Since the wedding was 1 week before 4th of July, it was only proper to have the sands in the blue, white and red colors. :)

You may now kiss the bride…

Married! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Ancil!

During the reception, the bridesmaids surprised Gemma and Jeff with a Polynesian dance.

The cake!

The first dance as husband and wife. How tender is their look for each other!

The money dance…love their crown!

Love it when a bride and groom party it up!

Gemma and Jeff, I wish you all the happiness in the world. Your wedding was full of love and laughter. It was very special to me that you let me be part of it. Love you both dearly!

Annie and Justin’s Wedding 10.10.10

I am so glad I got to coordinate my very first Chinese wedding. I couldn’t ask for a better loving couple than Annie and Justin to make it an even better experience. I don’t think I have met anybody who loves pink as much as Annie. Looking back and sorting through all the photos to post on this blog, I would say the color pink was the third “person” in this wedding :D

I was a bit worried before the wedding date because Annie’s brother was getting married in Hong Kong and 2 weeks before the wedding, Annie and Justin flew to Hong Kong then Korea to attend the wedding. It was insane! Poor Annie was so overwhelmed when she got back, I think she only had 4 hours max of sleep. In the end, everything worked out and that’s all that matters. Hats off to you Annie and Justin!

In the Chinese culture, before the groom can enter to ask for the bride’s hand in marriage, he has to endure a series of obstacles, which were very entertaining. For photos of Justin and the groomsmen tough determination to enter the house, check out Thao Vu Photography blog.

For the tea ceremony, Annie wore a beautiful Qi Pao/Cheongsam. Red and gold are lucky colors for a Chinese wedding.

I always put a photo of the boutonniere because it needs to be pinned properly so it does not fall throughout the day with hugs or kisses.

A closer look at Annie’s bouquet.

The groomsmen looked so hot in their hot pink vest and tie! ;)

Of course, the bridesmaids looked hotter!

And the even hotter couple…

Before heading to the ceremony site at the Trump National Golf Club, Annie changed into her gown.

We can’t forget her fantastic blinged out pink heels….

This is such a serene photo of Annie.

Now….for some ceremony details….I seem to be having lots of luck with balloons at weddings this year :)

We hung signs, pink and green balloons along the trails for guests to find the ceremony area.

It was such a beautiful day and the view was amazing!

Fascinare Events & Catering did such a beautiful job decorating the aisle with pink and green lanterns.

Boy, who knew these pretty heart shape petals would take Lily and I, 1 hour to pick every single one of them off the grass.

Let’s make this official, shall we? The groom and groomsmen are proceeding the ceremony.

You can see the joy on Annie’s face walking down the aisle with her dad.

Such a gorgeous day!

Happy couple = happy wedding!

And….it’s official!!! Congratulations Mr & Mrs Hom!

With such a beautiful sight and sunny day, Annie and Justin with the bridal party definitely needed to take advantage of it all.

After the ceremony, Annie and Justin headed for a second tea ceremony. Annie opted to wear a more traditional Chinese bridal gown.

At the reception, it was set up time!

The cake!

Annie and Justin are SO CUTE!

We had a bit of a technical difficulty at the beginning of the reception. The TVs around the restaurant, which Annie and Justin wanted to play their engagement photos on, could only take Blu-Ray DVD player. I was considering running to the nearest store to grab one when one of the videographer saved my life! His sister lived nearby and had a Blu-Ray DVD player, she let us borrow it for the evening! Pfffui….disaster was avoided! Annie and Justin got their grand entrance with no hitch!

Their first dance as husband and wife was very emotional.

These letters for their chairs were so heavy. I must have tied about 20-30 knots to make them stay.

Annie must be one of the most fashionable bride I’ve worked with. I love love love all of her gown changes.

Annie and Justin played really fun games during the reception. Justin had to touch several people’s hands and guess whose were Annie’s.

Justin’s expression was priceless when he realized that he picked his uncle’s hands as Annie’s.

Then it was Annie’s turn to guess Justin’s behind!

Why…of course she got it right!

Another beautiful gown! I am in love with them I tell ya!

And….the happy couple partied the night away :)

Annie and Justin’s beautiful sunny day did earn me a humongous sunburn but it was all worth it! And….did anyone notice? Lily and I matched the wedding colors! :D

Annie and Justin, you are such a beautiful, nice and sweet couple. You have an amazing, fun, loving family. I am so happy that I got to be part of your special day and experienced such a cultural Chinese wedding. I wish the two of you “double happiness” :D for all the days of your lives filled with love and laughter.

Valerie and Khoi’s wedding 5.2.09

I know, I know…It’s been a while since I have blogged but I needed to make sure both weddings were done before I can start blogging.

Valerie and Khoi’s wedding went amazingly well. Apart from the cold weather, things went off as planned. I had the location put a batch behind the canopy to block the wind and heat lamps around the area. There were quite a few old people so I had to make sure to move the timeline along well…I even was 1 hr AHEAD of the timeline because it was cold and people wanted to leave early. Things were a little chaotic at first because guests were arriving very early and wanted to take pictures with the bride and groom but we were still taking bridal party pictures. Valerie wanted to hide of course because she didn’t want the guests to see her in her dress. Frankly, I can’t blame her.  The photographer really was annoying! He didn’t want to listen to my instructions!!!

Several damage control needed to be taken care of: 1. the caterer arrived late so we didn’t have the linen to put on the table to lay down the signature canvas and the bar tables; 2. I completely forgot to put the cameras on the tables for guests to take pictures but we caught it on time! Thanks to my amazing assistant Lily who was very quick on her feet to help me out or I would have never made it.

Being a planner is hectic especially before the ceremony because of the coordination of the groomsmen and bridesmaids. I had to make sure that Lily had everything under control before we could start the ceremony. Then, after the ceremony, I had to talk to the guests and greet them (part of my bridesmaid duty), in addition to looking out that the place cards were set and the table numbers were layed out appropriately. Some guests were lost and didn’t know where they were seating so it was my duty to seat them at the designated seat.

During the reception, Lily and I went to place the candy bar for the guests departure. In the midst of everything, I managed to help Valerie change into her other dress, make the round of tables, get the bride and groom to cut the cake and run to get their champagne glass filled for the toast. Pffuuiiii……I’m tired just listing everything.

And with no further delays, here below are photos of the wedding decorations.

The bride and the bridesmaids’ flowers. Colors were very soft and romantic.

About 30 min before the ceremony, we passed guests flower cones so they can throw at the bride and groom once they become man and wife. A few days before, the bride, her family and myself made the cones.

Khoi and Valerie….Thank you very much for letting me be part of your wedding day from being a bridesmaid to keeping up with my 10,000 emails a day (part of a wedding planner). I wish the both of you many years of happiness and am glad to have you Khoi as my cousin! Now go make babies!!! Love you both!
