Kelly Duprat – THE BOSS (I wear too many hats to list them all)
I was born and raised in New Caledonia (a French territory). Don’t be fooled by my name, I look very much Asian (Vietnamese/French to be exact). I have a bachelor and a master degree from Cal State Fullerton. I currently work full time but found that I have a passion for weddings and pursued the passion in 2009. I took some online courses and with hands on experience, I became a Certified Wedding Planning. The past few years have been a blessing for my company with working beautiful weddings for amazing clients. I’ve expanded the team and recruited Jr. Coordinators along with assistants and interns to help with our growing business. It is a challenge juggling a full time job, being a wife, mother and being present for our clients planning and coordinating their wedding. However, I found it to be very soothing for me as it is my me-time in a way.I look forward to building more relationships with clients, seeing their vision come to life on their wedding day and receiving those big bear hugs from the couple at the end of a wedding.
Lily Luong – Jr. Coordinator
I am a spontaneous person and I try to live every moment to the fullest. Most of my friends will say I’m a ball of fun or crazy for being everywhere and working three jobs! However, that never stops me from spending time with those that I love and support me through it all. Being there from the beginning when Kelly started the business is so humbling. My favorite part is when the parents express their appreciation. It reaffirms the rewarding aspect of wedding planning! Established in 2009, I helped Kelly at almost every weddings. For the next few years, I have helped good friends plan and coordinate their weddings pro-bono. I realized that this is something I needed in my life. It was a skill I could share! The last wedding I planned was in Costa Rica as the state-side planner. It was such an amazing experience! I hope to gain more experience and grow as destination wedding planner.
Christine Luong – Jr. Coordinator
My career path has changed multiple times, but I have found my passion in event planning. I have a full time job working in a park at the City of Irvine, planning their programs and special events. My strength is in my creativity and organization. I sell handmade greeting cards and love making party decorations. My two favorite stores are Target and Michaels. I got into wedding planning in 2008 and fell in love with the people and the process. I love the little details that couples put into their wedding and am honored to be the one to bring their vision to life. I have worked with KDWP as a Junior Coordinator since 2014 providing timeline planning and day-of coordination. I look forward to doing more weddings, to being inspired, and to creating experiences that are unforgettable.
Ying Voong – Jr. Coordinator
You are most likely going to find me DIY-ing something, baking a kitchen full of cupcakes, hiking during the weekends or adventure hunting somewhere on my free time. I enjoy the outdoors and catching all the sunlight I can during the summer. I would plan social events on the side for friends and always hosting events for friends. I always had to plan themed parties and events. You’ll also find me at the Marriott working as an Event Specialist on the weekdays and hopefully working weddings with Kelly on the weekends. 🙂 Weddings are special lifetime events that I love being part of. I simply love… LOVE. Just 2 people loving each other and committed to each other for a lifetime is an amazing thing in life. I love planning, organizing and creating someone’s dream into reality. I like to hear about people’s plan and ideals and manipulating it into their special day! I get joy from couple’s reaction after their wedding day and I love it when I am able to make them happy. I started with Kelly Duprat Wedding Planner May 2013 as an intern. I was at a difficult place with my career as I was trying to figure things out and trying different things I thought I wanted to do. This was a great opportunity given to me and I never looked back. I never questioned my role on this team because everyone is supportive and caring. I was curious about Weddings and how everything came into fruition. I started assisting only during receptions, to doing both ceremonies and receptions and then following Kelly to planning meetings. I became one of Kelly’s Junior Coordinator and many opportunities has come from that. Kelly never limited my abilities, but only help me capitalize on my strengths and grow my weakness. She guided me for 4 years and she continues to let me learn and grow in her fabulous company.
Winnie Ing – Jr. Coordinator
Hi, my name is Winnie and let me start out by saying I am truly in love with love and creating happiness. I guess that’s why I love what I do and have a true passion for the events industry. I believe when it comes to your BIG DAY or even any SPECIAL EVENT in your life it is important to make sure that everything runs smoothly, on-time, and most-importantly that you have FUN!I have worked with both Kelly and independently on weddings for several years now. I’ve worked with her from “intern” to “junior coordinator” since 2012 and have learned and experienced much throughout my time. We have a wonderful team that supports one another, as well as, works really well together. Having a strong, stable team makes all the difference when the big day comes. And when it comes to your special day we all couldn’t be more thrilled to help you bring your vision to life.
Julie Truong – Jr. Coordinator
I graduated from UCI in 2015 and currently work in Human Resources. I caught the bug for event planning early on. While I was in school, I was actively involved in different clubs where I always found myself planning different social and community service events such as prom or my sorority’s formal receptions. I was always interested in working weddings and referred to Kelly where I started as an intern. A few years and countless weddings later, I can still say I learn something new and I love our clients because every couple and every wedding is different. My favorite part is working at a new venue and partnering with the staff, our team and our clients to execute their vision. The work we do is truly rewarding and the proof is in our clients’ smiles at the end of the night.
Carolyn Khuu – Assistant
Known as a quiet, methodical, and organized person, I can be counted on to understand a vision and execute it beautifully and efficiently. I love hosting parties because it brings people closer and it always involves food!
After my own wedding, I wanted to continue planning and coordinating events thus, I joined KDWP and has loved working with creative and fun-loving clients ever since. What I love most about weddings is being exposed to the many different cultures and diversity of our clients and the beautiful work that goes into making it a memorable day for them and their families. Working with KDWP has given me the opportunity to work with wonderful vendors and gain valuable experience with coordinating events. I am constantly inspired and challenged to make each event unique and successful.
Michelle Vuong – Intern
I’m Michelle, and my friends call me Crazy Dog Lady, but I prefer Mother of Dogs. I have two dogs, Toby (a Chihuahua mix) and Argon (a terrier mix), and honestly I’m a little bit obsessed with them. I love spending time with my fur babies, going on hikes or backpacking trips, observing marine life at the tidepools, traveling, binge watching TV dramas, and, of course, weddings. I love weddings. I never imagined myself getting involved with the wedding industry, but here I am. My first professional wedding experience began at Paracel Restaurant & Catering where I worked as their in-house day of wedding coordinator. This experience made me fall in love with the thrill and excitement of working weddings. As a result, I wanted to get more independently involved so I began coordinating weddings on my own for friends and family. However, I knew that I still had much to learn. I believe that, despite the amount of experience and knowledge we may think we have, we are never too young or old to continue learning new information. Therefore, I so deeply wanted to grow and to be a part of a team that consisted of encouraging, thoughtful, and hardworking individuals, who know to always put a bride and groom’s happiness first. Luckily, I found just that through KDWP. I was introduced to Lily of KDWP, who gave me the opportunity to meet with Kelly Duprat. From there, I was welcomed to the team. My journey with KDWP has been a rewarding and gratifying experience. I feel honored to be contributing to the joy and happiness of a bride and groom on their wedding day. I also love that every single person on the KDWP team is completely genuine and caring, which makes me so proud to be a member of such an awesome team!
Corinne Van Riper – Intern
I love weddings because it is a time and place that brings friends and families together. I love creating a unique space for the wedding party and guests. While making sure everything runs smoothly so they can have the best experience. My experience with Kelly Duprat Wedding Planning has been the best. I am a novice to the industry and I have learned so much in a short amount of time. Kelly has a very detailed eye and always makes sure everything is done with complete precision.
