Lily and Matthew’s Wedding 11.12.16

When the couple knows a lot of people in OC and is well-known in the new up and coming food industry, you can’t help but count your blessings when they pick you as their wedding coordinator. While working with Lily and Matthew leading up to their wedding, I couldn’t believe how easy-going they were. Their main concern was to have fun and to take care of all their guests. I got to know them as months passed and I understand why they are so loved by all their family and friends. These 2 lovebirds were definitely meant for each other.

The festivities started out with a Tea Ceremony.

Lily and Matthew’s dog, Kingston was the star of the ceremony. I love that they incorporated him into the ceremony. He was so well-behaved.

ThyVan and Brent’s Wedding 10.8.16

Lily has been friends with ThyVan for a long time and she had the honor to be ThyVan and Brent’s Jr. Coordinator on their wedding while I took a much needed vacation in Canada.

I have been debating whether or not I should be blogging about this wedding. Lily contacted ThyVan for her blessing before we publicly posted the wedding. Sadly, as we post this blog, Brent has lost his battle with cancer in January. However, this blog is not intended to make anyone sad but to honor Brent’s life, deep love for ThyVan, his family, and friends. We will remember him as the fun, loving person that is captured on this joyous day.

From Lily:

Thyvan and Brent had a beautiful wedding day full of memories and laughter with their family and closest friends. It was also the Groom’s birthday! ThyVan surprised him with a birthday cake of course!

Looking back, I have known Thyvan for many years and we bonded over stories about our boyfriends, food, and how non-girly we were. She always knew Brent would be “The One” she could spend the rest of her life with.

Unfortunately, wedding planning was put on hold for over a year due to the Groom’s chronic illness, the final results was shocking. It was cancer. His prognosis was less than six months. Thyvan called me that day and we set up a consultation at Kelly’s office. We reassured her that we would try to help as much as possible. In four months, ThyVan was able to plan the entire wedding while also being the Groom’s live-in nurse and working her usual shifts. She was so organized and took control when Brent was too sick to help her. She was booking vendors left and right. God is so good! He sent us vendors that went above and beyond to make this day special for them. I had the pleasure of enjoying our meetings with Brent because he was as hands on as he could be by attending all the meetings and site visits. He wanted to make sure she was able to get everything she wanted. I couldn’t wait for them to get married!

Regretfully, we all said goodbye to Brent on January 10th. It was just three months after the wedding. Our hearts were crushed, but he left us all with a strong message to take care of our bodies and be proactive about your health. Love more and reduce daily stress. We celebrate your life and what you gave to all of us Brent | RIP @IkariWarriorsFightAgainstCancer

Phuong and Scott’s Wedding 5.17.14

Phuong and Scott, these 2 lovebirds definitely know how to party! I remember when meeting with them, they told me to try to get things moving as quickly as possible so they will have more time to party and boy did they. 🙂 They totally deserve it after all the hard work planning the wedding. The ceremony was held at the beautiful Japanese Garden in Long Beach and the weather was perfect for their nuptials. Phuong and Scott only booked my services for the reception to make sure everything is set up per their vision.

Even though I wasn’t present for Phuong and Scott’s wedding ceremony, I have to post photos as it is way too pretty no to.

Thank you Tin Photography for the great photos as always.

Married! Congratulations Phuong and Scott!

The reception was just breathtaking!

Rose and Tony’s wedding – 9.17.11

Rose and Tony are such a fun, goofy, loving couple. And I am so glad I was there to coordinate their wedding (even with the little hiccups).

When Rose contacted me to coordinate and help her along the way with her wedding, again I was a bit worried, not because I couldn’t do it but because I knew I would be burnt out 1 week after my own wedding. But that thought quickly left my mind when I met them in person. They were so nice and they even invited me to eat hot pot dinner! I was sold! 🙂 Besides, Rose and Tony are so mellow and laid-back, it was easy and such a pleasure to work with them.

Tony and his mom are so cute!

Tea ceremony at the bride’s parents first.

Introducing the beautiful bride…

Then to the groom’s parents for the tea ceremony.

So much love!

Rose getting ready for the church ceremony.

The priest did a pretty funny homily for Rose and Tony.

After the ceremony, the bridal party traveled to Costa Mesa for some portraits.

You can totally see Rose and Tony goofiness in their portraits. So much fun!

Groom’s boutonniere.

Groomsmen boutonniere.

Who knew there was such a beautiful place in Costa Mesa!

Onto the reception!!

I’m not usually one to complain and I really do get along with all vendors I work with but Seafood Palace 2 was quite difficult to work with.  This is the reason why I ALWAYS advise all bride and groom to have EVERYTHING in writing with locations/vendors and not just via conversation.

Asides from the chaos here and there with the location, the most important thing is that Rose and Tony had a good time during their reception.

Beautiful cake from Taylor Cake Creations.
