Annie + Danny’s Wedding 7.1.23

Annie and Danny secured our partial planning services. They booked 1 or 2 vendors at the time but their venue location was still TBD. They live out of State so they needed someone with boots on the ground to help them look at venues. After touring a few locations in OC, they decided on the Villa in Westminster.

I loved working with Annie and Danny. Our monthly check-in was more about what was happening in our lives than about wedding planning. It was a great way for me to get to know them.

We started the morning with the 1st Tea Ceremony.

Travel theme wedding

2 weeks prior to the wedding, their officiant canceled. I searched high and low for a replacement but everyone who could do a ceremony in English and Vietnamese were all booked. Annie and Danny asked if I could do it. I was very hesitant because although my conversational Vietnamese is good, reading in Vietnamese is a different story, plus I am a lot better behind the scene than in front of the camera. I wasn’t about to leave my couple with this problem so I accepted. It would be my 1st time officiating and it was in Vietnamese and English. I was fumbling with the microphone, and my script, almost dropped their vow book and hit the bride with the microphone stand. A total mess!

After the ceremony, Annie and Danny did comfort me and said that I did a great job. Wait…wasn’t I supposed to be the one comforting them?

In any case, thank you Annie and Danny for trusting me and letting me have the honor of marrying the 2 of you!
