Shirley + Wanly’s Wedding 10.18.25

When I first met with Shirley for her wedding consultation, she described her celebration as “very simple” and assured me there wouldn’t be much to coordinate. She was absolutely right. Their wedding embraced a beautifully minimalist approach. There were no elaborate centerpieces, no extravagant décor, and the celebration centered around a traditional tea ceremony followed by a banquet at a classic Chinese restaurant. It was a refreshing reminder that a meaningful wedding doesn’t have to be elaborate to be memorable.

Even with its simplicity, Shirley and her family still valued having professional guidance to ensure everything flowed smoothly on the wedding day. From coordinating the timeline to assisting with the tea ceremony traditions, our team was honored to provide support behind the scenes so they could fully enjoy the day with their loved ones.

One of the things I appreciated most about this wedding was seeing a couple stay true to what mattered most to them. They chose to focus on family, tradition, and celebrating their marriage without the pressure of unnecessary extras.

As a special bonus, our team was treated just like the guests and enjoyed a delicious multi-course Chinese banquet alongside everyone else. It was a wonderful experience and a joy to be part of such an intimate and authentic celebration.

Sometimes, the simplest weddings leave the most lasting impressions.

From Sr. Coordinator, Ying:

“I was truly honored to help coordinate Wanly and Shirley’s wedding. Having known their entire family for years made the experience even more meaningful and special to me. From beginning to end, their wedding reflected exactly who they are as a couple — laid-back, carefree, and full of love.
The day began with a beautiful Chinese tea ceremony, a meaningful tradition that brought together family, culture, and respect in such a heartfelt way. Shortly after, we continued with a Vietnamese tea ceremony, which was equally beautiful and rich in cultural significance. Watching both families come together during these moments made the day feel incredibly warm and memorable.
After the ceremonies, we headed out for wedding photos at the historic San Gabriel Mission. Although it turned out to be an unusually hot October day, everyone stayed positive and made the best of it. Despite the heat, the photos captured so many genuine and joyful moments between the couple, their families, and friends.
We ended the evening with the reception at NBC Seafood Restaurant, where the atmosphere was filled with excitement, laughter, and celebration. The food was amazing, and it was wonderful seeing everyone so happy and enjoying themselves together.”
